Overview

This Privacy Policy outlines the information we collect, how we use it, and how we handle your data when you use the mobile application "Platform Map" (hereinafter "this app"). We do not collect directly identifying personal information such as your name or email address.

1. Information We Collect

  • Location Information

    We collect your current location only when you use the "Nearby Station Search" feature and have granted permission via the OS dialog. We do not continuously collect location data in the background.

  • Information Stored on Your Device

    Your search history and language preference are stored only on your device. This information is never transmitted to our servers and is removed when you uninstall the app.

  • Anonymous User ID (when using the submission feature)

    When you use the car-position submission feature, we store an anonymous user ID issued by our authentication service on your device to identify the owner of submissions and to prevent abuse. This is a device-specific identifier and does not include your name, email, or other personally identifying information.

  • Device & App Verification (when using the submission feature)

    When you use the car-position submission feature, we use an app and device verification service to verify the legitimacy of your device and the app. No personal information other than the verification token is transmitted.

  • Submitted Content

    We store submitted content such as car positions, facility information, and transfer information on our servers, along with hashed IP addresses captured at submission time. Hashed IP addresses are used solely for rate limiting and are not retained in a form that can be reversed.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Providing information about stations and train cars
  • Providing nearby station search functionality
  • Serving advertisements
  • Improving our service through usage analytics
  • Receiving, moderating, and applying user submissions to the service
  • Preventing abuse of the submission feature

3. Third-Party Services

In operating this service, we use the following external services:

  • Cloud database, authentication, and serverless functions provider
  • Advertising services (Google AdMob)
  • Analytics services (Google Analytics for Firebase)
  • App and device verification service

We only transmit the minimum necessary information, and all communications are encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Please note that using these services may involve the transfer of user-related information to servers located in foreign countries, including the United States.

4. Advertising

This app uses Google AdMob for advertising. AdMob may collect the following information for ad delivery and performance measurement:

  • Advertising identifier (IDFA)
  • Device information (OS, model, screen size, etc.)
  • Ad impression and click data

On iOS, you can deny the use of your advertising identifier by selecting "Ask App Not to Track" in the App Tracking Transparency dialog shown at first launch. You can also change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

5. Analytics

This app uses Google Analytics for Firebase (Firebase Analytics) to understand and improve how the service is used. The following information may be collected automatically when you use the service:

  • Identifiers such as the app instance ID
  • Usage data such as screen views and sessions
  • Approximate location estimated from your IP address

If you select "Ask App Not to Track" in the iOS App Tracking Transparency dialog, your advertising identifier (IDFA) will not be used for analytics or advertising purposes.

6. Data Retention Period

  • Search history and language preference stored on the device are retained until you delete them in the app or uninstall the app.
  • Information collected by third-party services is retained in accordance with each provider's privacy policy.
  • Submitted content is retained unless deleted by the user through the app. Approved and rejected submissions are kept as history.
  • Anonymous user IDs and sessions are retained while the app is in use; long-inactive accounts may be deleted at our discretion.
  • Hashed IP information is removed after the rate-limit window (up to approximately one hour).

7. Your Choices

You can control how your information is handled using the following methods:

  • Search history: You can delete it from the settings screen within the app.
  • Location information: You can allow or stop the app's location access from your OS settings (iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services, Android: Settings > Apps > Permissions).
  • Advertising identifier: You can control it via App Tracking Transparency on iOS, or by resetting the advertising ID on Android.
  • Submitted content: You can delete your pending submissions from the "My submissions" screen in the app. For removal of approved or rejected submissions, please contact us via the support site.

8. Children's Privacy

This app is primarily intended for users aged 13 and older, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided information through this app, please contact us via our support site.
