Platform Map — A mobile app for quickly locating facilities within train stations

Overview

This Privacy Policy outlines the information we collect, how we use it, and how we handle your data when you use the mobile application "Platform Map" (hereinafter "this app").

1. Information We Collect

  • Location Information

    We collect your current location when you use the "Nearby Station Search" feature. We do not continuously collect location data in the background.

  • Device Identification Information

    We identify your device using a UUID-formatted deviceId generated within the app. We do not collect personal information such as names or email addresses.

  • User-Submitted Content

    When you submit suggestions about station facilities or train cars, we store this content on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Providing information about stations and train cars
  • Providing nearby station search functionality
  • Improving our service by aggregating and publishing user suggestions
  • Preventing unauthorized use
  • Serving advertisements
  • Improving our service through usage analytics

3. Publishing User Suggestions

User suggestions will only be published to other users when a certain number of identical suggestions are collected. Suggestions below the threshold will not be published.

4. Third-Party Services

In operating this service, we may use the following external services:

  • Database and hosting providers
  • API server infrastructure
  • Fraud prevention services
  • Advertising services (Google AdMob)
  • Analytics services (Google Analytics for Firebase)

We only transmit the minimum necessary information, and all communications are encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).

5. Advertising

This app uses Google AdMob for advertising. AdMob may collect the following information for ad delivery and performance measurement:

  • Advertising identifier (IDFA)
  • Device information (OS, model, screen size, etc.)
  • Ad impression and click data

On iOS, you can deny the use of your advertising identifier by selecting "Ask App Not to Track" in the App Tracking Transparency dialog shown at first launch. You can also change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

6. Analytics

This app uses Google Analytics for Firebase (Firebase Analytics) to understand and improve how the service is used. The following information may be collected automatically when you use the service:

  • Identifiers such as the app instance ID
  • Usage data such as screen views and sessions
  • Approximate location estimated from your IP address

If you select "Ask App Not to Track" in the iOS App Tracking Transparency dialog, your advertising identifier (IDFA) will not be used for analytics or advertising purposes.

7. Data Retention Period

  • deviceId is retained while the app is in use.
  • User-submitted content is retained unless deleted by the user through the app's functionality.

8. User Rights

You can delete your own submitted content through the app's functionality.
